Hehehe… life happened. 😂
It has been two months since I last posted on Adri Notices Things, which feels a little ironic for a blog that is literally about noticing things.
But in my defense, I’ve been busy growing a human.
The past couple of months have been a weird combination of ordinary life and oh my gosh, we’re actually having a baby soon.
I’ve been working full-time, going to church, keeping up with prenatal appointments, slowly but surely getting everything ready for baby, and spending an unreasonable amount of time thinking about how to make our humble home work for three people.
We rearranged our bedroom.
We worked on the baby registry.
We bought baby things that still feel slightly surreal to own.
I’ve gone to approximately one million prenatal appointments.
I’ve been nesting. Aggressively.
And in between all of that, I’ve been trying to actually enjoy this season instead of constantly thinking about the next thing on the checklist.
On the bright side, though, I’m genuinely happy.
I’m healthy. Baby is growing. I’m growing. And as we get closer to meeting him, I’m finding myself getting more and more excited.
It’s funny because pregnancy has made my life feel simultaneously very full and very simple. There are plenty of things to do, but most of them keep circling back to the same thing: getting ready for this little person who’s about to completely change our lives.
So that’s where the hell I’ve been, loca. 😂
And apparently, sometimes living means disappearing from your blog for two months because you were busy reorganizing your bedroom and deciding whether you actually need that thing everyone keeps putting on their baby registry.
Anyway, I’m back. For now… 🤗

Two months of things I’ve been noticing:
- Our bedroom suddenly feels very small. Funny how adding one tiny human can make you reconsider the entire floor plan.
- Baby registries are overwhelming. How many types of bottles can one baby possibly need?
- Prenatal appointments have become a regular part of life. At this point, I know the routine.
- Church has become one of my favorite anchors. Even in a busy season, having somewhere to show up, worship, and be around people I love has been so grounding.
- Working full-time while pregnant is its own adventure. Some days I’m productive and some days my body is very clearly like, “Girl, no, we’re growing organs over here.”
- Nesting is REAL. Suddenly I have opinions about storage containers that I did not have six months ago.
- Baby is becoming less of an abstract idea and more of a person. It’s been quite the shift.
- I’m actually enjoying this. Even with the discomfort, appointments, planning, and endless lists, there’s something really sweet about knowing we’re getting closer.
I’ve been living this very ordinary, very full little life while waiting for something very extraordinary to happen.
I have a feeling the next couple of months are going to give me plenty more to notice.
